Roboticist & Mechatronics Engineer turning ideas into intelligent machines.
I'm Matt — a Mechatronics Engineering student deep into robotics, embedded systems, and mechanical design. I've been building physical things since I was 8, and I haven't stopped.
My approach: learn by building. Robotic arms, tactile sensors, VLA models, anechoic chambers, Tesla turbines. If I don't understand something, I build it until I do.
I want to work on hard robotics and mechatronics problems — the kind where mechanical design, embedded firmware, and manufacturing constraints all have to be solved together.

I've shipped 6+ apps to the App Store since I was 19. Swift, SwiftUI, CoreML, Firebase, RevenueCat. I own the full stack on every one: architecture, UI, backend, App Store submission, and iterating on user feedback.
My first real iOS app — an AI communication coach that listens to your speech in real time, scores your delivery, and gives you targeted feedback on filler words, pacing, and confidence. Built it to solve a problem I had preparing for pitches. Landed on the App Store and taught me everything about Swift, CoreML, and building 0→1.
From Eloquently's first TestFlight build to Bold AF's live users, every app added reps in Swift, API integrations, database design, and pushing through App Store review. Visenty, Cibus, nutrition trackers, AI tooling. Full-cycle development, start to finish.
iOS app for building confidence through daily challenges, streaks, and an AI coach called Bestie. Users are hitting 150-day streaks. Built solo with SwiftUI, Firebase, RevenueCat, and the Claude API. I handled the architecture, UI design, backend, and App Store submission myself.
I've been building physical things since I was 8. Welding, machining, wiring, fabricating. Not everything makes it into a polished case study, but it all stacks up.
Built a fully functional off-road buggy at 15 from salvaged parts. Welded the frame, got it running. My first real mechanical build.
Bladeless turbine running on compressed air. Machined the discs, designed the housing, tested thrust output. Deep dive into disc-based fluid mechanics.
High-current spot welder built from a salvaged microwave transformer. Rewound the secondary coil, built the electrodes, used it for welding projects.
Built and test-fired propane rockets — water and air cooled, 3D printable designs. Also built solid rocket motors. Worked through nozzle geometry, propellant grain design, and thrust curves.
Large-format LED matrices with custom embedded drivers and real-time animations. Designed the PCB layout, built the panels myself.
Designed and built a 10x10x10 ft anechoic chamber in a garage for drone noise testing. Achieved 20 dB noise reduction. Structural design, acoustic foam layout, all from scratch.
An ongoing archive of hardware experiments: custom PCBs, motor controllers, sensor arrays, and one-off mechanical builds driven by curiosity.
AI video generation platform. Script in, fully produced video out. Backend, UI, API integrations, and deployment.
Full-stack nutrition platform for dietitians. Client management, meal planning, progress tracking. Designed the data model, built the frontend and backend end to end.
Lessons learned from building robots, startups, and everything in between.
From writing my first line of code to founding startups and building robots.
Wrote my first lines of code at 8 years old. The beginning of an obsession with making things work.
Built sketchy robots, apps, and broke everything I could get my hands on. Learned by doing, long before university.
Founded a 3D printing and engineering consultancy at 16. Ran a multi-printer production farm, delivered CAD design and prototyping services to clients.
Walked in and sold myself for a job they didn't even have posted. Diagnosed, repaired, and recommissioned industrial FANUC robotic systems in production environments.
B.Eng in Mechatronics. Deep focus on robotics, control systems, and embedded systems.
Designed waterproof drone transport cases, built an acoustic test chamber, automated calibration processes saving $300/drone.
Led Vision-Guided Robotics initiatives across 10+ global teams. Designed BIW production lines for 20K units/week. Led my own development line in China. Wrote the DFM handbook used by manufacturing engineers across Tesla.
Led the drone team through design, testing, and autonomous systems development.
Embarked on a founder journey building across mobile apps, software for nutritionists, an AI image generation platform, AI-powered shoplifting prevention and facial recognition, robotics hardware, and tactile sensing. Led customer discovery and early growth while participating as a fellow at two of San Francisco’s top accelerators: Entrepreneurs First and South Park Commons.
